Once you’re here, do not pass up the opportunity to learn scuba diving, as there is no better place to learn to dive than the Maldives, with its warm waters and vibrant marine life. PADI courses for beginners and experienced divers are available on the island. Get an internationally recognised PADI scuba diving certificate and dive anywhere else in the world! Travel light and avoid the extra luggage, diving equipment are included in both diving courses and excursions.

At Machchafushi Island Resort & Spa Maldives, a whole host of incredible experiences await you, from relaxing pastimes such as snorkelling and cruising the lagoon on a pedal boat to adrenaline-firing activities such as wakeboarding and parasailing. We are fully equipped with everything you need for a truly splashing time: kneeboards, wakeboards, seabob water scooters, banana boats, fun toys and more. The highly experienced and EFR-trained Watersports team are available for tuition and advice about which activity would suit you best. For your safety, you must wear a life vest during the conduct of any watersports activity.

Every day, we set out on different snorkelling adventures, whale shark, turtle or manta quest, or choose to stay dry and explore the underwater world on a semi submarine ride. During the early evening, you can learn how to catch a fish using just a line or set out on an early morning quest for big game fishing. Here at Machchafushi Island Resort & Spa Maldives, there are plenty of activities to choose from and you’ll never run out of things to do to make your holiday more special. There are limited slots per activity. We recommend that you book one day in advance, so be sure to call or visit the dive centre on your arrival at the resort.

Best Dives Maldives team initiated the coral regeneration project in 2014 at Machchafushi Island Resort & Spa Maldives. However, due to the ‘El Niño’ phenomenon in 2015-2016, the replanted corals around the island did not survive. Recently, our team on the island has reactivated the project and is continuously monitoring the growth of various types of replanted coral fragments. Join the semi submarine tour or go on a guided house reef snorkeling to see the development of these young replanted coral fragments.
